Sis. Josephine has been a member of Ebenezer AMEC in Fort Washington, MD since 1984. She currently serves on the Stewardess Board and has been a member of the Alice Marie Chapman Missionary Society for 28 years. She held the position of First Vice President of the Alice Marie Chapman Missionary Society for 8 years. There she chaired all Annual Day Programs; coordinated and developed the Back to Mission Outreach program; coordinated the Shopping with Jesus Program; created the Mentoring Program which included helping create the materials and chaired the Kick Off Program; and developed the New Member Training course, created the manual, the training materials, and assisted in teaching the course. She also chaired the “In Appreciation Dinner” for their previous Missionary Officers. At one of their Outreach Mission Shelters she assembled a Computer Room with computers and printers donated by her job and participated in and developed several workshops. She also participated in their annual picnic and Thanksgiving and Christmas Fellowships that were held at the Outreach Shelter. She received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Alice Marie Chapman Missionary Society.
For eight years she held the position of Corresponding Secretary of the Catherine C. Hemingway Area. She received an Appreciation Service Award from the Catherine C. Hemingway Area. For 3 ½ years she held the position of Worship Director and for one year she held the position of First Vice Chairperson. In 2008 she was one of the honorees at the Washington Conference Branch Women’s Missionary Society Annual Recognition Luncheon.
She has been the president of her Community Civic Association for the past 15 years. She is retired from the Federal Reserve Board as a Senior Computer Application Analyst. Over her career as a Programmer/Analyst, she programmed in six different computer languages. She is married and has a daughter, son-in-law, and one grandson.
