Sis. Margaret has been a member of Ward Memorial AME Church since 1970. She has and continues to hold membership of Ward’s Tullie B. Quinn Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) since 1989 and has been a member of the Washington Conference Branch WMS since 1992. She has held the following offices at the local level: Promotions and Missionary Education Director, Worship Director, Parliamentarian, and is currently the Recording Secretary.
She has served at Ward in a number of capacities including former Church School Superintendent, Church School teacher, Director of Christian Education, member of the Joseph C. McKinney Lay Organization, Masters and Debutante Commission; and Secretary to the Quarterly Conference. As Christian Education Director, she attends yearly Ministries in Christian Education meetings. She has also served as the parliamentarian of the Fellowship of Church Educators from 2006-2014.
She has been a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since June 1999 having served as State President and also held offices as Vice-President and Secretary. She has served as the President of the McCaskill Unit. She is currently the Vice President of the McCaskill Unit and Chairman of the Education Committee where they plan classes and learning events for the monthly program. She has served as a delegate to the National Association of Parliamentarians Biennial Convention in 2009, 2011, and 2013. She prepared detailed delegate transcripts after each convention. She is also a delegate at the Convention at the Crystal City Marriott in September 2015.
Sis. Margaret is also a Life Member of the National Council of Negro Women and serves as the Parliamentarian to the Washington, DC Section Two. She is an alumni of Historically Black Universities to include Virginia State University, BA; and Bowie State University: MA /Public Administration.
