Sis. Michele Hudson attends Dickerson A.M.E. Church in Frostburg, MD along with her husband, The Reverend Meredith C. Hudson, who has been the Pastor since October 2007. She has been a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Frederick, MD since 1988. Sis. Michele is currently the Local President of the Fannie Daugherty Women’s Missionary Society. She is also the Dickerson AMEC Administrator. Sis. Hudson is a Church School teacher and active in the Sick and Shut-in Ministry.
Under her leadership as Local President, she has faithfully supported the Frostburg Community. Some of the outreach mission projects include: nursing home ministry; Frostburg Food Bank Pantry; food panty for Frostburg State Students; Frostburg Summer Lunch Program; back-to-school supplies; elementary school lunch program; donations to the Frederick County Religious Coalition; Thanksgiving food baskets; Christmas bags for residents of the Western Maryland Health System Nursing and Rehab Center; and mid-term snack/survival bags for the Frostburg State College Students. In 2018 she was one of the honorees at the 18th Annual Washington Conference Branch Women’s Missionary Society Recognition Luncheon.
Sis. Hudson also finds time to assist her Pastor with the A.M.E. Worship Services at The Western Correctional Institution (maximum security state prison for men) located in Cumberland, Alleghany County, Maryland. Sis. Michele began ministering in the jail and prison ministry in March 1998. She has shared the word of God with men and women at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, Montgomery County Correctional Facility, and Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Jessup, Maryland.
She retired from the federal government after serving in various leadership positions in the field of Information Technology. She has 3 adult sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sister Michele enjoys traveling along with her husband, and has traveled abroad to South America, Central America, Asia, Europe, the Baltic States, Canada, and Russia. Sister Michele’s favorite scripture is, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2.
