Answering the Call During COVID-19 by Turner Memorial

During this pandemic and due to the Stay-at-Home mandates, the members of the Johanna Morris Women’s Missionary Society of Turner Memorial AMEC continues to answer the call to love our neighbors as ourselves, to feed the hungry, cheer the fallen, and visit the sick and shout-in by:

• Sending gift cards to individuals who phone the church for assistance;

• Donated $100.00 to Community Crisis Services, Inc. (CCSI) to support services to homeless families and individuals.;

• Sending food store gift cards to two (2) of the Community Café Angel Tree recipients. The two individuals will receive the grocery store gift cards until the Community Café reopens;

• Calling church members living alone and those who are sick at home and living in Senior Citizen facilities; and

• Provided fifty (50) meals to Warm Nights, Prince George’s County’s temporary shelter for homeless families and individuals operated by CCSI
