Missionaries and Associates Serving God’s People During the Coronavirus Outbreak. Now That’s Love!

This Coronavirus had Embry AMEC's doors shut and our spiritual needs being met with weekly conference calls, however, on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Georgianna Stewart Missionary Society (GSMS) gathered on Embry’s sidewalks and lawn to serve God by being in service to others. Thanks to generous donations from Nourish Now, a 501c3 in Rockville, MD, and the Beltsville Costco, we were able to distribute a variety of fresh produce, bread, pastries/desserts, and beverages to our Embry family, friends and residents of the Lakeland Community.

Every missionary knows Tuesday, March 24, 2020, was set aside for the Washington Conference Branch Women's Missionary Society's Annual Convention and Night in White. As written in Isaiah 55:8, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. Just look at God! He turned it around! Instead of getting all dressed up and made up, we came out on that cool Tuesday afternoon dressed in denim, jackets, sweats, hats, sneakers, boots, masks and plastic gloves to do God’s work.

We thank God for helping us to see the vision! The GSMS members who came out to serve were so happy to be out from under quarantine, to see each others' faces, and to participate in this outreach where we could be a blessing to others. We were sure to follow all the CDC guidelines in place at the time.

The Lord’s Name Be Praised!
