Reid Temple Handbags of Hope Across America

Every October, the Queen Jefferson Missionary Society partners with Sisters4Sisters to host Handbags of Hope Across America. The mission of this campaign is to collect and distribute handbags to women escaping domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. In addition, each handbag is filled with toiletries.

More importantly, the goal of this campaign is to bring HOPE and Restoration to the hearts of women and girls but also to inspire, uplift and encourage women of all ages who have had the courage to leave abusive and unhealthy relationships, as well as those in transition as a result of poverty and life challenges.

This year over one hundred and twenty-five handbags filled with toiletries were collected. To date more than 14,000 handbags have been collected and distributed through this campaign.

Participating cities include Washington, DC, Baltimore, Maryland; Houston, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago Illinois; Los Angeles, California; San Diego, California; Bowie, Maryland; Hagerstown, Maryland; New Jersey; New York, New York; Miami, Florida; West Virginia; Delaware; Alaska; Las Vegas, Nevada; Seattle, Washington; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
