School Project Fundraising Breakfast at St. James AME

For the second year in a row, the Young Adult Missionaries (YAMs) from the Edna B. Dykes Missionary Society of St. James AME Church have led the fundraising efforts for our School Lunch Project. Our School Lunch Project raises funds for students in Frederick, MD whose lunch account is in arrears. The YAMs coordinating the project are Mi‘Kea Hawkins and Jessica Smith.

This year the YAMs organized and planned a breakfast to raise funds. The breakfast was held on February 1, 2020 at the church. The menu included pancakes, sausage, fried potatoes, eggs, juice and coffee. Our YAMs helped to cook and serve the breakfast. We had a blessed time fellowshipping with one another and serving breakfast to others. We raised approximately $500 which will be given to local schools. It is a blessing to be of service to the Lord!
