On October 20, 2018, the Washington Conference Dorcas Elimination was held at Wayman AME Church in Frederick, Maryland. Acts 9:36 states that Dorcas was a disciple known for her practical acts of mercy in which she received her joy in honoring Jesus by serving the poor. Annually the Washington Conference Missionary Society participates in the Dorcas Extravaganza in order to provide funds for worthy missionary projects. Participants compete representing the Women’s Missionary Society and the Young People’s Division in categories A, B and C. Individuals who were victorious in their Local Society and Area competed during the Washington Conference Elimination process.
