Doris Gibson, Recording Secretary

Sister Doris Gibson Recording Secretary is a member of Saint Mark AME Church in Oxon Hill, MD.  Sister Doris currently serves as Local President for the Doris Jean Cook Women's Missionary Society at Saint Mark and Recording Secretary for the Celeste W. Duckette Area.  Currently, she serves as the Recording Secretary for the Washington Conference Branch Women's Missionary Society.

 

Sister Doris was born in Dillon, SC and was raised in Fairmont, NC.  Her spiritual journey began at a young age at Union AME Church in Lake View SC.  Sister Doris and her husband raised their family at Saint Mark AME Church, where she served as Missionary, Church School Teacher and Class Leader.

 

Sister Doris attended Bennett College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Central Michigan University.  She currently works as the Director, Acquisition Program Support at the Department of Health and Human Services.

 

Sister Doris is married to Sidney Gibson, and they reside in Fort Washington, MD.  They have two adult children, Verna and Drake.  Her favorite scripture is, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.  Plans for you to prosper and not to do you harm. Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
