Valerie Cherry-Jones, Worship Director
She loves to sing and praise the Lord and has sung on the choir at her church and has prayed during the worship service, during Daily Devotions and at other events. She loves the spirit of Christian missions and enjoys being a blessing to others.
Sis. Valerie is a native of New York, but currently lives in Randallstown, MD. She is married to Lewis Jones, a retired firefighter, and has three children and five grandchildren. She has been a State Farm Insurance Agent for 27 years and has been with the company for 37 years. She enjoys traveling, vacationing and eating out at fine restaurants. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a member of the Morgan State University Alumni Association, Howard L. Cornish Baltimore Chapter and a member of the Greater Baltimore County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America.
Her favorite Scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Sis. Valerie Cherry-Jones is a member of Union Bethel AME Church in Randallstown, MD. She has served as the Local and Area PME Director from 2015 to 2023. In both of these positions she promoted and distributed mission education literature including the annual yearbooks and related study materials. As Area and Local Society PME Director, she attended the PME Dialogue Institute yearly. The PME Dialogue Institute conceptualizes and develops the PME yearbook which focuses on pertinent and timely educational articles on social, political, economic and environmental justice themes to stimulate critical thinking and related discussions.
She also serves as the Chaplain of Stewardess Board #1 at Union Bethel where she leads the Stewardesses in prayer and scripture. She also served as the Corresponding for the Lay Organization at Union Bethel where she sent out correspondence on behalf of the organization.
