By Sis. Felecia Scott. The Lucille E. Dale (LED) Women’s Missionary Society of Campbell AME Church, DC, held our Annual Day, and what an amazing, spirit filled service we had! There’s something wonderful when the people of God come together on one accord to praise and thank Him; for truly, it is only by God’s grace that we’re able to do outreach mission work.
We had an array of participants, both local and visitors, and the men’s choir set the service off with praise and worship! Our theme was, "Missionaries Revitalizing and Strengthening Our Faith Through Prayer, Songs, and God's Word." Our guest speaker was Rev. Dr. Felicia N. Gross from Community of Hope AME Church. She delivered a powerful, encouraging message – bottom line “Do Something!” God has called all of us to be his hands and feet and to reach out to those in need. We must be willing to respond to his call and not sit on the gifts and talents He’s given us.
Our world is in utter chaos, but with God’s help we can make a difference, and we can no longer assume that someone else will step up and decide to roll up their sleeves and do the work of outreach. I am convinced that this worship service cemented our reliance on God and strengthened our faith so that as we go about doing the work set before us we will not grow weary, for God is with us!
Sis. Nancy Adams was recognized for her outstanding and dedicated service to LED WMS. Other missionaries recognized were Sisters; Alyce Burke, Brenda Millard and Juanita Wills. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
